AromaTouch is a wonderful nurturing treatment that involves the use of essential oils applied to the body namely the back, head, feet and sometimes hands. A light touch is used to apply the oils and so is not the same as a massage. The oils penetrate deep into the skin and systems in the body.
The technique was developed by Dr. David K. Hill, a leading expert on the use of essential oils for medicinal benefit. The technique was created to address four systemic constants: stress, toxic insult, inflammatory response and autonomic imbalance. Recognizing that there are common factors at the foundation of illness in the body, the Aromatouch Technique was developed to manage these systemic constants and return the body to a state of balance or homeostatis.
Because essential oils contain many different healing properties, each oil used in the AromaTouch Technique has been specifically selected for its individual therapeutic benefit and aroma. Aromatouch will enhance essential oil activity and stimulate known body meridian and energy zones while balancing body systems and function.
Clove found in one of the blends is known traditionally for use in alleviating colds, digestion disorders, nausea, sinusitis, parasites and shingles.

After an extremely busy day, I went to Aoife for an Aromatouch treatment. Aoife greeted me with such a welcoming smile and the room was lovely and warm and candle-lit with a very quiet and non-intrusive cd in the background. The treatment consisted of a back rub/gentle massage with four different blends of essential oils. Each different scent had effects varying from head-clearing to muscle relaxing and the they were really pleasant on the senses. Aoife then massaged more oils into my feet which was so relaxing and helped my body to unwind even more. Aoife has does a lot of different types of treatments and she is very welcoming and her rooms are so warm and relaxing. Everyone deserves to treat themselves or a loved one to a treatment!Maire Keary Scanlon
